Wonder by R.J. Palacio Wonder stars August Pullman who has been homeschooled up until middle school because of health issues and the demanding surgery schedule that goes with it, a specifically craniofacial abnormality which is a group of deformities in the growth of head and facial bones. Auggie’s parents have begun to think about the big picture and decide to send him to public school where he is greeted by three kids that are the welcome committee, Charlotte and Jack are nice, but Julian is not, and at lunchtime Auggie eats alone. Fast forward to where a girl named Summer sits with him because she feels bad for him and in the end, they end up close friends, after getting over his appearance Jack realizes that Auggie is a cool kid but lacks the confidence to stay his friend and hurts Auggie’s feelings by bad mouthing him.
